Inspiration
Happy Wednesday! Happy April! It's a Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and April at Heartfelt Creations is busy, busy, busy. Pay a visit to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see all the beautiful creations from the design team. There's a sneak peak of next week's new release - you don't want to miss it! Heartfelt Creations is also choosing a design team - the new team will be announced April 25th. This time, they are asking YOU to help them decide on the team - they would like your votes for your top 5 CURRENT design team members, AND your votes for the top 5 SEMI-FINALISTS. Your votes will determine the style of creations you will be seeing on the blog for the next 6 months!
This week I made an Easter Basket. I found my inspiration on Splitcoast Stampers in a photo by MichelleO, and her blog pointed to the instructions for the basket on StampARTic. And, to tell the truth, I had to fold a couple of samples before I got it to look the way I expected it to. You'll have to let me know if my instructions below are clear! I used the lovely Pristine Lilies set for the floral decoration.

Instructions
BASKET
Start with a 12" x 12" sheet of double-sided card stock. Score it at 6", fold, and reopen. Score it again at 6" on the other edge of the paper, fold, and reopen. You should have a cross scored through the middle of the sheet.
Now fold each corner into the center point, and crease using the bone folder. You now have a smaller square.
Turn this square over. Fold in each corner to the center point, and crease using the bone folder. Fold the resulting square in half with the newly folded corners inside, creating a rectangle with open squares on the outside.
Now, holding the rectangle with the open side of the square upward, open the basket by pulling the center out and pushing the bottom corners together.
Cut 4 squares of blue patterned paper measure 2 3/4" x 2 3/4". Use Zip Dry glue to adhere these squares on the inside squares of the basket.
BASKET BASE
Glue a 4 1/2" square of plain blue paper onto a chipboard square of the same size. Use the largest scalloped circle die to cut out the base. Cut a plain white circle using a plain circle die, and a patterned blue paper circle using a slightly smaller circle die. Glue the white circle on the chipboard base, followed by the blue circle on the white.
Using hot glue, glue the bottom points of the basket together, then use a generous amount to hold the basket to the base.
HANDLES
Using textured blue card stock and a scalloped blade, cut 2 strips measuring 1 1/2" x 12". Using the blue patterned paper and a straight blade, cut two strips measuring 1" x 12". Glue a patterned paper strip onto each scalloped strip. Use hot glue to glue the ends of the strips onto the sides of the basket, crossing them in the middle.
Punch a hole in the middle of the strips where they cross at the top. Tie a green ribbon double-loop bow, and push a brad through the center. Now tie a slightly smaller double-loop bow and before creating the knot, hold the larger bow behind the new bow and tie them together as you knot the ribbon. Use the brad through the hole in the handles to attach the bow to the top of the basket handles.
FLOWER EMBELLISHMENTS
Stamp the flowers in blue on Cryogen white paper. I stamped 2 large, 3 medium, and 7 or 8 of the smaller images. Use the matching dies to cut them out. Shape the blossoms using the blossom tool kit. Spray the flowers with shimmer spray, and let them dry. Glue the largest 2 sizes of blossoms in an arrangement on one side of the basket. Glue the smallest blossoms around the base of the basket, covering the base of the basket and any hot glue.
