Masculine Thanks

Inspiration

Here we are on Heartfelt Creations' Wednesday again - and this week you definitely need to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog - there's a sneak peek of the June release and you're going to love it!

Masculine cards are tough to create, but the HC sets from the last few months make it much easier! The tattered background stamps from the Old English Garden Collection and the western elements from the My Guy Collection go together perfectly in my card this week to create a Thank You note for a special guy.

Trip To Health

Inspiration

I seem to be in the mode of creating masculine cards lately, for the standard birthdays, etc. This week I needed a card for a friend recovering from a serious illness. I'm also into using digitals - quick and easy! Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got the motorcycle image, but it fit the sentiment from Create with TLC so well, I decided to use it. I like the way it turned out, don't you?

Only One Like You

Inspiration

I'm SO happy to announce that I made the Heartfelt Creations team again!! Working on this has taught me so much about crafting, and about how WELL a business can run a design team - the Heartfelt Creations company treats their design team members as family and treats us all with kindness and generosity - I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience this has been, and how thrilled and honored I am to be allowed to continue. Thank you to Emma Lou and Linda and all the folks at HC, and another thank you to of you who voted for me to continue!

And congratulations to all the new design team members! Be sure to head over to the HC Blog to check out the announcement.

My card today is made using the Western Elements collection - there are such beautiful scenery elements in this collection! They do inspire me to try my hand at watercolor.

Vintage Carriage

Inspiration

Hello and Happy Friday!!!!! I'm so glad to see this week end - big project at work with lots of hours all week! And, best of all, I'm headed to craft classes Saturday and Sunday taught by TIM HOLTZ IN PERSON!!! Yea!

This is my third Heartfelt Creations card this week - they keep getting simpler and simpler, don't they? This card probably has the shortest list of accessories I've ever published. The card is simply layers of paper, and a single silhouette image. When I found this patterned paper, I knew it was perfect for this carriage - and in this case, simple is good!

BASE CARD

Cut a piece of kraft card stock measuring 7" x 10", score at 5" and fold.

BACKGROUND

Cut a piece of watercolor paper measuring 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". Mist with water, then spread Distress Stain ink to create a landscape: Broken China, then Dusty Concord, then Crushed Olive, and fill in with Wild Honey. Dry with heat gun. Use the blender tool to add Vintage Photo ink around the edge of the background.

IMAGES

Stamp the fence and ground images in Sepia ink on the background. Stamp the windmill tower in jet black. Stamp the fence again onto a piece of ivory card stock, and trim closely. Color with colored pencils, and blend with Gamsol on a paper stub. Stamp the boot image twice in Sepia on ivory card stock. Cut the images out with the matching die. Color with colored pencils, blend with Gamsol, and decorate with Chocolate SPICA pen.

Stamp the solid windmill blade in Pumice Stone on ivory paper. Use the stamp positioner to stamp in Black Soot the windmill blade outline over the solid image. Use the matching die to cut out the blade. Use a paper piercer to put a hole through the stamped windmill blade, and through the background at the top of the tower. Fasten the blade to the background using a silver brad. Use Zip Dry to glue the fence onto the background, and glue the boots to the picture, as well.

SENTIMENT

Cut a brown card stock piece measuring 1 1/4" x 3 3/4", and an ivory card stock piece measuring 1" x 3 1/2". Stamp the sentiment in Sepia onto the ivory piece. Mount the sentiment onto the brown piece, then mount this to the upper left of the card front.
