Masculine Thanks

Inspiration

Here we are on Heartfelt Creations' Wednesday again - and this week you definitely need to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog - there's a sneak peek of the June release and you're going to love it!

Masculine cards are tough to create, but the HC sets from the last few months make it much easier! The tattered background stamps from the Old English Garden Collection and the western elements from the My Guy Collection go together perfectly in my card this week to create a Thank You note for a special guy.

Instructions

BASE CARD

Cut a piece of dark blue card stock measuring 7" x 10", score at 5", and fold.

MATS

Using a deckled blade, cut a light green mat to 4 7/8" x 6 7/8", and light blue mat to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". Sponge light green ink around the edges of the light green mat and mount on the front of the card. Stamp the diamond background in dark blue ink on the light blue mat, then sponge the dark blue ink around the edges of the mat.

SENTIMENT

Stamp the sentiment in dark blue ink on white card stock. Cut/emboss with a small deckled oval die. Cut/emboss dark blue card stock using the next largest deckled oval die. Sponge the dark blue ink around the edges of both ovals.

Wrap hemp cord around the blue mat 5 times, then tie the hemp together on the right of the mat. Mount the blue mat on the front of the card. Adhere the sentiment oval to the dark blue oval, then mount them over the hemp on the blue mat using foam squares.

IMAGE

Cut/emboss white card stock using the largest deckled rectangle die. Sponge the dark blue ink around the edges of the die cut. Stamp the image on the die cut with black ink. Color the image with COPICs; I used these colors:

  • HAT: B93, B95, B99
  • BOOT: BG70, BG72, BG75, E37
  • ROPE: Y21, Y23, Y26
  • SHADOW: E31, E35

Mount on the front of the card above the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!
