Cherries to Cheer You

Inspiration

This is a quick and happy card that could be used for different occasions - a get well, an apology, an "I'm thinking of you", or just a note. This card was featured on the Heartfelt Creations blog on Wednesday, and uses the Luscious Cherries set, which is part of the Spring Cardinals collection.

Instructions

Image

Stamp the cherry image on white cardstock. Using the rotary trimmer cut from the right edge of the right leaf about 2 1/4", then turn the paper to cut at a right angle, and cut about 1 1/2". Turn again, and cut straight back to the lowest cherry. Finish up the by continuing the cut on the other side of the cherry for about a 1/2", then finish up by cutting the final edge of the frame up to the bottom of the left leaf. Using scissors, trim around the bottom of the cherry, and the tops of the leaves. Use the paper piercing tool to punch a row of dots around the edge of the white panel. Stamp the sentiment in purple ink to the right of the cherries. Color the image, using the COPICs. Here's the colors I used:

  • Cherries: RV63, RV66, RV69
  • Leaves: YG95, YG97
  • Shadow: C00, C1, C3

Assembly

Create the background on the lilac panel, using the pale purple ink and stamping the cherry outline image repeatedly at random angles. Mount the patterned paper across the middle of the lilac panel. Adhere a strip of ribbon across the top of the patterned paper, and tie a bow and attach it to the right portion of the ribbon strip, using glue dots. Add the image panel on the patterned paper, with the leaves over the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!
