Inspiration
Hello Wednesday! It's time for more Heartfelt Creations' projects - I have 3 on the HC blog this week, so I'll post tomorrow & Friday too. Hope you will come back and visit. AND you need to head over to the HC blog - you'll find projects from all the design team members, including the new team announced last week, as well as a sneak peak of next week's May release - you are going to LOVE it!
For today's project, I covered a composition notebook with fabric, and embellished with stamped images and a little hardware. I think it would make a fun gift for someone - next time I might pick a lighter-weight fabric - the corners where I folder over the edge are a little bulky!

COVER
Cut the fabric to be bigger than the opened notebook by about an inch all the way around. My fabric had a fringe on one edge, so I lined it up so the fringe was just over the front edge. Using strong double-sided tape, adhere the fabric to the cover. Add double sided tape to the inside edges of the cover, and fold the over hanging fabric inside. Secure the edges of the fabric with tape (we'll cover this with paper later, so you don't have to be neat).
EMBELLISHMENTS
Cut a white oval using the template that comes with the Ornate Plate. Ink the word "Love" using a black marker, and stamp in the middle of the white oval. Use a little glue around the inside edge of the plate and place the oval into the frame. Place it where you want it on the corner, and punch holes through the plate and cover, then secure in place with brads.
Stamp the leaf swirl in dark green die on the green paper, and cut it out using the matching die. Using the dries-clear glue, adhere it to the front of the notebook.
Stamp stalk of flowers on white card stock with black ink, and seven individual flowers. Carefully trim the stalk of flowers, and use the matching die to cut out the individual blossoms. Color with COPIC markers. I used G94 and G99 for the leaves, and RV52 and RV55 for the flowers. Glue the stalk of flowers to the front of the notebook just overlapping the leaf swirl. Punch a hole through the center of each blossom and through one of the small flowers on the stalk. Secure the blossom in place with a small pink brad. Enhance the images with SPICA glitter pens - I used Blossom and Mint. Finish by punching holes through each corner and securing the fabric with larger brads.
INSIDE COVERS
By lining the inside of the covers with paper, you cover up all the tape and brad backs and holes for a nice, clean look. Cut paper to fit the inside of the notebook covers - for my notebook, the front inside was slightly larger than the back. Use rubber cement to generously cover the inside including the folded over fabric, and glue the patterned paper in place.
Thanks for stopping by!
