Teacup Bouquet

Inspiration

Here's my second card for the debut of Heartfelt Creations' May release - the Old English Garden Collection. There are SO many ideas popping in my head with this release that I'm having to make notes daily while I'm at work so I don't lose them! Today's card uses masking - a great way to create a layered effect on one piece of cardstock using multiple stamps.

Remember to head over to the HC blog to see all the beautiful DT creations - they are gorgeous!! Leave a comment there by May 15th and you will be eligible to win the entire release valued at $141.99

Instructions

BASE CARD and MATS

Start with a piece of light orange card stock measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score it at 1 1/2" and 5 3/4", and fold. For the large side of the gatefold, cut a turquoise mat measuring 2 1/2" x 5 1/4", and designer paper measuring 2 3/8" x 5 1/8". Mount on the large side of the card front. For the smaller side of the gatefold, cut a turquoise mat measuring 1 1/4" x 5 1/4", and designer paper measuring 2 1/2" x 5 1/4". Mount on the smaller side of the card front.

IMAGE

Cut a piece of white card stock measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/8". Since the flowers should appear to be coming out of the cup, start by stamping the largest flower image in black ink so that the largest blossom is about in the center of the white panel.

Picture 2: Positioning Cup Image

To mask the image, stamp it again on the Eclipse tape, and cut out each blossom and leaf and cover the matching images on the white panel (Picture 1).

Use the stamp positioner to stamp the cup in black ink, placing it across the middle of the largest blossom (Picture 2). Using the stamp positioner to stamp the 2 smaller flower swirls to fill out the bouquet. The finished bouquet is shown in Picture 3.

Picture 3: Complete Image

Remove the masking tape, and color the image using COPIC markers. I used these colors:

  • Tattered flowers - YR21, R14
  • Blue flowers - BG05
  • Leaves - G21, G24
  • Cup - W00, W1, Y15, BG05, R30, G21
  • Shadow - C00, C1

Mount the white image panel on a turquoise mat measuring 3 3/8" x 4 1/4", and adhere the image stack to the larger side of the card front. Finish by adding Liquid Pearls to the center of the small blue flowers in the bouquet, and gluing Teal Gala Glitz to the center of the largest blossoms.

Thanks for stopping by!
